Although, not necessary to a vegan diet, replacements for our old favorites make it even easier to make the switch.
Mayonnaise
Vegenaise: Its mayonnaise… hold the mayo. This stuff is the sole reason my significant other went vegan. It’s that good. We use it on sandwiches, in various “salads” such as “egg” salad and potato salad. It can definitely be thought of as “eggless” mayonnaise, so it’s no more fake than Hellman’s.
There’s another product out there by NaSoya… It’s okay too, but tastes more like Miracle Whip, and its slightly runny. I have found it makes a pretty good cole-slaw. Both are very good to have around, but in my opinion, Vegenaise is waaaaaay better.
Non-dairy Cheese
Cheese is the number one thing I hear people say they can never give up. No worries… animal milk cheese can be replaced too.
Daiya- Try it. If you love cheese, and you think you can’t go vegan… there are no more excuses. I’m serious, this stuff is pretty darn good .

Follow Your Heart - Vegan Gourmet Cheese Alternative: This stuff comes in a few flavors and with a little bit of a patience, they all melt pretty decently. You can add the “cheddar” flavor to mashed potatoes and other foods by first melting in the microwave and then stirring into foods. We have successfully made pizza with the Mozzarella and Monterey Jack flavors and they do eventually melt.

Dr. Cow: Their gourmet dairy-free cheeses are amazing, and great with wine! Buy some
Novelties

Tofutti Ice Cream/Treats: I haven’t really come across a bad product this company makes. My personal favorites are the all vanilla Tofutti Cuties (ice cream sandwich), and their Marry Me Bars (Dilly/Klondike bar).
Purely Decadent by Turtle Mountain: Pretty good ice cream with a ton of flavors to choose from- like a vegan Ben and Jerry’s. Excellent atop a brownie, or straight from the tub.
Other

Better Than Cream Cheese
This stuff can be substituted in recipes calling for cream cheese. I’m not the biggest fan of it spread on bagels, but my seven year and husband love it
Better Than Sour Cream
For use in recipes, sauces, and great for “mexican night”.
