Hey lovely readers! I just wanted to pop in for a moment and let you all know about a really great resource (especially for newbie cooks and/or newbie vegans) called Vegan Minute. It’s a series of instructional slideshows that teach important kitchen tricks and quick recipes for creating delicious and easy vegan fare. Nava Atlas and her son, Evan, are the force behind this new and exciting idea, and she has kindly allowed me to share one with you today.
Most of you are probably familiar with Nava’s cookbooks, including her recent one Vegan Holiday Kitchen but she also has an arsenal of great information out there on vegan cooking in both book form and her website Veg Kitchen and she is a fantastic addition to the art world, known for her altered books and readable objects.
I highly recommend you check them out and share… it’s such a great addition to the incredible amount of vegan-ness on the web these days. Thanks so much, Nava!

Also! A quick announcement about Christy Morgan (The Blissful Chef)–the author of ‘Blissful Bites’, a full color, photo packed cookbook that teaches you how to enjoy a plant based seasonal diet with both flavor and flair. She is hitting up the East Coast for her ‘Blissful Bites’ book tour throughout March!
‘Blissful Bites’ is full of innovative plant based recipes along with an entire section dedicated to teaching you the basics of culinary arts. She’ll be touring starting March 12th in DC, New York, Boston, Portland, New Jersey and Philly — so come out and see her if your on the East Coast! She’s definitely as wonderful a person as she is a chef, teacher, and author. If you don’t have a copy of this incredibly slick, smart, and inspiring cookbook, you are missing out — this tour is a great chance for you to come and meet the chef, and get a signed copy to bring back to your kitchen. You don’t want to miss this!
…and just in case you haven’t seen it yet, I’m excited to say that Veg News listed my upcoming book (see sidebar or footer) was listed as one of 2012′s Must-Buy Vegan Cookbooks. Hooray! Thanks Veg News! Go getcha one! ;)
ps: I also post updates on my facebook page and ramble about a lot of things on twitter that don’t always make it to this blog. If you haven’t connected with me yet (and you love social media), please do!

I’m about to dive into the Vegan Minute, the idea sounds so good, it sure is very helpful!!!
Thanks for sharing :)
Awesome, Maggie! And you are so welcome… really, all the thanks goes to Nava! ;)
What a neat idea! I may have to check out that butternut squash video, as it never seems easy when I do it.
Congrats on making the list! And thanks for making want to order even more cookbooks that I really shouldn’t order, my bookshelf is soon going to collapse ;)
What a great resource, Gotta check this out. I’m gonna be needing these, my friends are coming over this Sunday and I’ve been looking for an easy and quick recipe of a raw salad. Thanks a lot, you saved me!
