There’s this thing going around called 7 random facts; I first saw it on Choosing Raw here. Even though I’m not personally into most of the memes that hit the blogosphere, I do enjoy reading the ones that give me a glimpse about the people behind the blogs I read, especially those of us who tend to keep there personal lives kinda out of the spotlight. It’s kinda fun, you know?
Also I needed some good filler text to go above my giveaway today.
So here goes. If you’re totally bored by my one-way-interview with myself, just skip on down to the bottom where I’m giving away a cuisinart mini processor. Because I ♥ you. (UPDATE: Contest has ended. Thanks everyone for playing! )
1) I have a green smoothie and a giant salad for breakfast and lunch (respectively) almost every single day. I mostly post sugar and fat laden goodies on this here blog, cause I LOVE sugar and fat and I think dessert is the best, but when I’m pounding away on my computer or busy at work in the kitchen, what I crave are greens! Lots of them. Typical smoothies include spinach, kale, chard, collards, and dandelions along with frozen bananas or grapes, apples or carrots, berries (and some chocolate on occasion). For my salads I tend to stick to mixed greens and kale, tomatoes, fruit, nuts, seeds, hummus or other bean based dressings and cukes.
2) Martha Stewart is my hero. I’ve loved her since I was just a teenager—judge me if you must, but that woman knows what’s up about a lot of things. She even spoke out against factory farming just recently. In case you missed that… check it.
3) Phones and I do not get along. Unless it’s for business, a call from my husband, or a call to catch up with an awesome friend or family member, I’d rather let it go…straight to voice-mail. I’m much better with email. :\
4) I’m the youngest of 4 kids, with my brother –who is closest to my age–being 9 years older than me. I became an aunt in the 2nd grade, and I loved it because I had so many different ages around me to influence my childhood. I always felt like I had the best of both worlds: growing up almost as an only child in my household, and still having a lot of family around to keep things interesting.
5) I love white chocolate. Especially home-made. The smell of cocoa butter can make this girl’s knees weak.
6) I buy almost all of my clothing from thrift stores or vintage retailers online. The only exceptions being jeans, certain types of shoes which I stock up on every few years or so, and a few random items I’ve picked up if I’m in a pinch and need them fast. My wardrobe is an ever growing collection of strange and iconic fashion trends from decades past and present.
7) Even though I am obsessed with getting new cookbooks, I rarely ever cook from them; instead I treat them like collectors items on my bookshelf and as wonderful reading material and eye candy. I used to cook from every cookbook I could get my hands on when I was a little girl, and I loved it… somewhere along the line I just stopped. Now for dinner I’m much more of an improvisational kinda gal, partially out of thrifty-ness and partially out of a craving to create.
Okay! Enough about me, here’s the details of what I’m giving away. I asked my friends on facebook if they would give me some ideas about their fave small kitchen appliance, and although a VitaMix was the most popular choice, it’s not quite in my budget for this particular giveaway. Ahem. But! I love my food processor and a mini one just like this can be used for chopping/mixing/pureeing up small amounts of foods for all kinds of nifty reasons. And these come in fun colors. So here’s the deal:
1) Up for grabs is 1 cuisinart 3 cup mini food processor in any 1 color you see below.

2) To enter, just leave a comment telling me your favorite color of the bunch. If you win, you get that color. If you don’t tell me your favorite color, I’ll pick for you. :)
3) Contest open to USA residents only. Sorry, friends in other parts of the world.
4) Contest closes next Monday (February 6th) at midnight EST.
5) Wait for me to announce contest winner on Tuesday (February 7th). Winners will be selected using random number generator.
Easy, huh? Good luck!

Oh! I’m torn between green or magenta; they’re both so vivid and beautiful!
Ohhh, it’s hard to choose! But I like the vintage look of the turquoise – so that’s my choice :) Thanks for having a give-away!
turqoise please! Thank you!!!
Love your blog! I’m just starting out with veganism, so I’m going to be trying a lot of these recipes. I love the white!
they are all so bright and pretty! the white is classic, the chrome is modern, my favorite is the green though! it just looks cheerful! :)
That chrome is classic and sleek. And pretty perfect, to boot!
Ahh, they’re so cute! I love all the colors, but the orange is so vibrant. :)
Orange like the sun! My favorite color :D
Love the turquoise one! So cute :)
I would be happy with green or orange–or even pink or magenta–so I will let u pick! Loved your 7 list. I recently started following your blog and am enjoying it immensely! Thanks for sharing!!
ooh so not a pink girl but there’s something adorable about a pink food processor..it’s a toss up. I like the crisp clean white cuisinart! Hope I win, I’m a food processorless vegan.
I’m not picky, I would like any color. I’m in desperate need of a food processor!!! I’ve just become “more” vegan and all the yummy things I want to try require a food processor of sorts. Thank-you!!
Turquoise is beautiful! My food processor just broke… in fact we are both broke!! haha.
i love the magenta one and orange one! yay. thanks!
I love the tourquoise! This could possibly be perfect timing, as my food processor just broke :(
Love the turquoise!
The green is my favorite. It would match my collection of green Le Creusets!
Oohh I love the turquoise, please and thank you!!
I love the teal color. It reminds me of cooking with my grandma as a kid.
The magenta one is definitely the best, but Cuisinart really chose a beautiful color scheme!!
Oh my goodness these are so cute! I love the turquoise or the pink one!
I love the magenta. Almost everything in my kitchen is pink because most proceeds go to Susan G Komen and almost every woman in my family has had breast cancer. so it’s a cause I like to support. :)
Turquoise! It’s so cute :)
MAGENTA FOR SURE! THanks for you kindness :-)
tb
I had one until it died on me a few weeks ago, and I just became a vegan 4 weeks ago! It would come in very handy, but even it is not in my budget now. I have a 3 yr old & 5 yr old and their needs come before mine! I love the pink! But will be grateful for any color.
I would love to win any of these, but the chrome would match my kitchen! Thanks so much for the giveaway!!
Oh, the turquoise one is so pretty :)
The magenta is so fabulous. I usually go for minimalist approaches, but for some reason I’m totally in love with the idea of a bright pink Cuisinart!
Wow, I love how vibrant the orange is! Thanks for the giveaway.
The turquoise one is so adorable! What a wonderful giveaway :)
The turquoise one looks like it is right out of the 1950′s. Classic. Love it. I am sure the 1950′s would have loved it too.
i love the turquoise or chrome the best!
chrome
I have the orange one on my Christmas/Birthday/Random Contest wish list!!!
love that green! happy Wednesday! xoxo
I really like the chrome!
Lovely! I like the Orange
awesome giveaway! i’m boring and like my kitchen to match, so i’d pick the chrome.
I’m a brand new vegan and I’m loving your blog! And I love the green one :)
I am a total green girl through and through. I’d love the green one! Loving your blog, too!! :)
Green! It’s not easy being green! Thanks!
I love the magenta!
Oh man, it’s a toss up between turquoise and magenta! Fun!
Since I *have* to pick (they are all great!), I think I’ll go with the turquoise. Thanks for the opportunity!
Pink. Definitely pink. Since red is not an option. :-)
Tough choice! I would certainly be most happy with any of them. But if I have to choose, I’d go with the orange. It’s such a happy color. :)
I love the turquoise one!
Ooooooo turquoise!
Oh, the Turquoise is calling to me!!!!
Hi, Allyson!
I just discovered your website today and have had a great time reading about you and your recipes. The photos are amazing and I can’t wait to begin my gluten-free vegan adventure. :)
I’m so in need of a food processor because mine broke a while ago and I’m not that great at cutting tons of veggies by hand. I adore green! Green is my favorite.
Thanks so much!
